"We all want the same thing, but achieving it- in different ways"
I am a: 57-year-old Man (Single)
Located in: kensington, MD (USA)
Seeking a: Woman (35 to 45)
For: Friendship, Dating
Spirituality: Buddhist, Spiritual, not religious

About Me
I am a long time meditator, following basic Buddhist beliefs, which I don't push them on others. I don't swear or dwell on negativity. I am a calm person but alert, relaxed but discipline.

I do enjoy spending time by myself, but in no way that I feel lonely- although I get to sense and see things from a different view that way. I go through life like everyone else- feeling frustration, some (rare) anger and irritation but again I don't allow them to dictate me. I like to enjoy simple thing in life, perhaps like sun shine, beach, trees, parks, or even (regular) cold shower- the colder the better! There might be time which I also don't mind the finer things in life but I am not attached to it anyway. I enjoy sports and very good in tennis- did many years of National traveling and a couple years internationally- as a coach.

I would like to meet another person (woman), w/ some similar spiritual interest - who is grounded, kind, intuitive and can stand up on her own if necessary. BTW, I consider myself a strong/ independent type w/ no personal drama-not a control type, don't complaint, passing judgement or look down on anyone. Once I committed to task, I would follow through until finish. I express my true self outwardly through character, action and thoughts.

Personality
My Personality:
Quiet, Caring, Playful
When out with friends, I'm usually:
The quiet one
What makes me laugh hardest:
Used to live with dogs, when they were doing silly things
I'm happiest when:
Happiness and unhappiness- comes and goes in cycle
I am simply aware, here and now, so......
I am mostly calm- that's all that matters.
The things that annoy me are:
Pleasant and unpleasant situation have nothing to do w/ our suffering- the mind is. It is important to remember to apply meditative mind set to the daily life as the practice deepens. While it is good to sit in a quiet place- meditating, real life is full of noise, chaotic situation, people living their lives. Meditation doesn't stop simply because one gets off sitting cushion.
Annoy is a good practice - to see how much focus one has.
Annoyance is simply a test- it teaches us what matters and how much we need to let go.

Although I don't care much for pretentiousness- if you can get away w/ fooling others, but what about the demons inside- the ones you have to live with everyday/ every moment?
The best day of my life was when:
I don't look at thing as best or worst. I look at what it is that I need to do based on that situation and what has to be done- and go do it.
If it's a nice and sunny day, Ok I'll enjoy it. If it is a cold/ rainy- I am not a gonna get up set because I was planning to go play some tennis. Maybe I'll go walk in the rain also.
If I could have dinner with any three people, they would be:
Buddha- although I now understand why he took that path, I would too if I were him based upon what I now know of this World (Illusion) and the controls.... it's a mess!!!
Interests
My interests, hobbies, and pastimes include...
Travel
The physical activities I'm interested in are:
Biking, Tennis, Walking
For fun I like to...
It can be anything if I allow myself to- basically nothing special
My favorite movies:
Star wars - "Pay attention to here and now!". or Sci-fi movies (less thinking...)
My favorite music:
Easy listening, maybe...

Although I really do enjoy Roger Whittaker's music : Whiskey in the Jar, New World in the morning, Stranger on the shore, Wind beneath my wings, Should have had dogs, Leaving Durham town..
My favorite books:
In search of the warrior spirits.
It's a sad World (and the Universe) - I made it up...
Values
The virtues I consider most important are...
Courage, Compassion, Kindness
The things I'm most grateful for in life are...
That I made it this far w/ the help of people I have met along the way. No one especially me is an island.
My goals, and what I want out of life...
Living my live normally, but still making a difference in someone's life when needed.

Goals? Just live an honest/ working hard/ harmonious life. Most important of all, applying Sati 24/7.
My greatest accomplishments in life have been...
Knowing when there's anger, fear, hatred, greed, jealousy, emotion, thoughts- and not letting them influence me. At the very least, I wake up every morning and not getting bombarded by my own thoughts, and feeling peace and calm and stillness in the middle of rush hours
Five or ten years from now, I see myself...
Depends on my Karma. If I die tomorrow or next week, I know have lived the best to my ability- no regret. If I live another 40 or 100 years, ok, life goes on.....
Spirituality
Spiritual Orientation:
Buddhist, Spiritual, not religious
I consider my spirituality...
The central focus of my life
What brought me to my spiritual path and motivated my interest...
Always wanted to overcome the fear/ anxiety. At 8-9 year old, I felt a moment of unspeakable peace/ calm out of nowhere which set the path.
I consider the purpose of my spirituality to be...
Connecting to something greater than myself, Finding happiness and peace within, Helping me cope with the struggles of life, Building a personal relationship with God, Instilling morality and virtues, Helping me grow as a person
After the body dies...
The soul reincarnates until achieving Liberation
I would define a spiritual experience as...
oneness- beyond my own self/ego.
A spiritual experience I would like to share...
Being aware- sitting and "really" seeing what I am seeing, instead of thinking that I am seeing. It's very unique experience I would like everyone to experience- no ego, no thought- simply aware, simply see, simply bee......;-)
The spiritual books and authors that have had the greatest impact on me...
No book, no author can have a "great" impact, since everyone must do their own work- meaning you gonna have to sit and meditate yourself- and learn to reflect and seek the truth from your heart, intuition and personal experience.
