| About Me
I started to search a work/life balance when working in corporate, which led me fortunately discover Yoga and meditation. Since 2014 I learned and carry on as a daily routine breathing practice (Pranayana, the Art of Living) and Vipassana. Before that I went to church for a few years but now found my refuge in Buddhism. This helps me to understand and connect things that I saw and experienced at early age, say thousand-hand Kuan Yin. I grew up in China and live in the US since 2001. When I travel there, I enjoy visiting the religious sites such as mountains and temples.
I am blessed to have opportunity to go for Vipassana retreats in North Fork, Ca, including one time that I served a 10-day meditation course. It helps me connect with fellow practitioners and solidify my practice. In summer 2017, I attended the Compassion Cultivation Training course at Stanford University. The biggest takeaway for me is Compassion is the best kept secret of happiness. I go back to alumni drop-in course in a monthly basis.
On professional side, I work in supply chain management, particularly in International Logistics. Since my MBA graduation, I work for various retail companies with roles ranging progressively from analyst, manager to director.
On my hobbies. I enjoy hiking, in-door biking and Yoga. Reading is the activity before my sleep, I have in the night stand the magazines Lion’s Roar and BuddhaDharma. Besides, doing improv. Since June 2014, I started Improv comedy training in downtown San Jose, working with some amazing coaches and a group of classmates full of talents and creativity. It is a lot of fun. Periodically we perform a show on the stage. I was fortunate to discover that Improv and Meditation are 2 sides of same coin, one being expressive, another reserve and quiet, they are of the same coin: Being in the moment.
Thanks for reading my profile. May you be peaceful and happy. |
