| About Me
|
|
|
Throughout my life, I've been blessed, for which I'm full of gratitude. I have a daughter and granddaughter living on the other coast, a loving family, dear friends, and have the most wonderful art, book, pet-filled home. I live in nature, glorious nature. In 2011, I spent 10 days with The Dalai Lama in DC. I"ve lived on Cape Cod with my pets till now. Early 2025, I'm moving to Port Ewen, NY, to a river front condo. If I have to look at the Hudson River for the rest of my life, lucky me.
I meditate daily, am vegan, and knock wood, I'm healthy. And you? What do you appreciate? What are your interests? What's most important to me is what's in your heart and brain. Able bodied or not, who you are is what's important. Please don't smoke nor support conservative politicians. I'm honest, generous, ove nature and art and animals, and most of all, love people. I have a monthly dinner party, welcoming friends and guests into my art-filled home. Not your ordinary woman. |

How I spend my free time:
- Everywhere I look it's beautiful, both inside and out. After meditating, showering, getting dressed, feeding the pets, I read the morning papers that are in my driveway, then we (dog and I) go for a walk, either behind my house or on the bay beach. My garden is 8 raised beds, and they grow well and yummy!! It's so easy, standing up to plant or pick produce. Reading books, keeping up with emails, meditating take part of each day. Volunteering at a food bank once a week all summer, working at the AIM thrift shop in Wellfleet on Saturdays, volunteering at 2 different theaters, plus helping friends in other ways, are other things I do. It's so wonderful living here. Lucky me.

Spiritual Orientation:

Buddhist
-
I consider my spirituality...
-
Pretty important to me
-
What brought me to my spiritual path and motivated my interest...
-
It makes sense to me. It began with meditating at DharmaDhatu in the early 80's in NYC, and has continued since then.. I studied with Sogyal Rimpoche at Rigpa, till we learned about his behavior. I was in a 5-year Bahai study. When I was in NYC in the early teens, I was at Shambala, and helped out at Tibet House. Now, I meditate, read and study Tibetan. Just wished The Dalai Lama a happy birthday.
-
I consider the purpose of my spirituality to be...
-
Connecting to something greater than myself, Finding happiness and peace within, Belonging to a like-minded community, Helping me grow as a person
-
After the body dies...
-
I don't know, but I'm not worried about it
-
I would define a spiritual experience as...
-
Being in the presence of The Dalai Lama. Watching the sun set over the Bay.
-
A spiritual experience I would like to share...
-
When my daughter arrived. We adopted her, as I was unable to do it myself. She was 3 days old.
-
The spiritual books and authors that have had the greatest impact on me...
-
Ram Das, Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh, Pema Chodren, Rev. William Sloane Coffin,
the usual suspects.
