About Me
Hi, I’m 68 and have been divorced for 3-1/2 years. These past few years have been a time of personal and spiritual growth and I’m very much enjoying life. I’ve just retired and am interested in meeting others who have similar interests and outlook to spend time in conversation, getting to know each other and doing fun things together. I’m interested in spending time with other people who have done a lot of their own work and are open, caring, compassionate, positive and know how to genuinely connect with others. Important spiritual teachers for me include Thich Nhat Hanh, Mark Nepo and Eckhart Tolle, as well as Sharon Salzburg, Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.
My primary spiritual connection is through nature. I love plants and the outdoors, hiking and backpacking, camping in my camper or in a tent, exploring nature; birding, kayaking (only been a few times but want to do more), gardening, visiting public gardens. I'm also creative and have done a lot of different arts and crafts over the years. I enjoy singing and playing music, as well as drumming in drum circles. I enjoy reading and listening to recorded books; I enjoy watching movies and documentaries and select series on streaming services. I also enjoy cooking, and am mostly vegetarian. I like going to concerts and visiting art museums. I enjoy spending time with friends and with family, including my 5-year-old grandson. I'm looking forward to doing some travelling. There are many activities I haven't had much time for in recent years and hope to get back to now that I have time.
I also enjoy genealogical research - my own family and others'. I feel strongly about social and environmental justice and belong to several organizations supporting these causes. I am involved in and support antiracism work.
I'm a lifelong learner; I'm interested in many different things and always interested in expanding my knowledge and understanding, as well as exploring new ideas and new places.

How I spend my free time:
- I enjoy gardening, caring for my house plants, and watching series or movies in the evening or reading. I also enjoy spending time with my 5-year-old grandson and his parents, and spending time with friends. Right now I'm in transition since I've just retired and and still figuring out where I want to put my time and energy. I do plan to spend more time doing a lot of the things I mentioned in my intro.
