About Me
I cannot imagine a way to represent this incredible journey in a box. In fact, I have spent my entire life doing my very best to avoid being put into a box.
I will tell you the journey has been profound, inspiring, and far from complete.

I am a good man, honest and kind. I have no interest in games or drama. My companion these days is mostly my guitar. While I love the musical conversation that occurs, I am open to adding additional conversations (like with a real person).

I have lived a wonderful life, full of introspection, gratitude, extensive travel, and a deep and profound spiritual search. These days my "philosophy" seems to have boiled down to being present to this moment - meaning I'm no longer worried about the past or the future, just doing my best to be present here and now..

Four years ago I had a divorce I did not want and spent two years in a form of grief. During that time I realized I had given up many of the best parts of me in an effort to make it work (that is on me, not her).

The last two years have seen the reclaiming of those wonderful parts, never to be relinquished again.

I mentioned I play guitar and I am a one-trick pony. I only play original music and the lyrics are almost always a combination of English and Sanskrit. I occasionally play at a yoga studio in NH and enjoy it, but playing out is no longer my focus..

I am well educated and the other side of me is that I still work full time in a professional capacity. It helps the mind stay sharp and holds back the hounds of time (at least for a little longer).

I also love helping out on my friend's farm. This is wood season and I get to spend parts of each weekend in the woods with my chainsaw culling the standing dead, helping the forest thrive, and providing warmth. I believe it was Thoreau that said "the man that cuts his own wood is twice warmed". T'is true. During my visits to the farm I have realized it is impossible to watch ducks walk and not smile. Blessings.

How I spend my free time:
I read, play guitar, occasionally watch a movie (I don't have a TV, but use the computer to waste time). I am returning to yoga after a long absence - it is still in me, and I love the union of breath and movement. There are several different places in the area to go to ecstatic dances, but I am a bit shy and am only able to talk myself into it occasionally. I enjoy it when I do go. I recently discovered some old poetry journals and have really enjoyed reading my words of yore. There are still more pages to fill....
Personality
My Personality:
Quiet, Caring, Adventurous
When out with friends, I'm usually:
Trying to be a good listener
What makes me laugh hardest:
Not much of a video person...
I'm happiest when:
I am listening to the sounds of nature (or my instruments).
The things that annoy me are:
Not really interested in being annoyed. Not worth the time.
The best day of my life was when:
Way too many best days to pick one.
If I could have dinner with any three people, they would be:
As you probably already figured out, I’m not very good at this. I don’t spend much time in the past and, as to the present, I would rather just give my full attention to the person in front of me.
Interests
My interests, hobbies, and pastimes include...
History, Music (listening), Music (performing), Writing
The physical activities I'm interested in are:
Biking, Hiking/Backpacking, Yoga (hatha)
For fun I like to...
I enjoy working on my friend’s farm. I like to cut wood. I learned “Owl Vision” and I like to walk in the woods while practicing it. Mother Nature reacts differently when I do so. Breathing consciously is about as fun as it gets.
My favorite movies:
I don't really watch much, so not really.
My favorite music:
Oddly enough, I have been enjoying some electronic music of late. I think they call it down tempo, deep house. I enjoy putting in the Airpods and dancing by myself to some of the DJ sounds. Definitely have to pick and choose.
My favorite books:
The favorite books from the past no longer have the same meaning, so I guess I have to say no. Perhaps it would be better to say there are none that I turn to.
Values
The virtues I consider most important are...
Honesty, Kindness, Patience
The things I'm most grateful for in life are...
Becoming aware of my own energy and how to consciously channel it.
My goals, and what I want out of life...
To be awake when I exit.
My greatest accomplishments in life have been...
Like the question about the book, the “greatest accomplishments” no longer have the same meaning. Time moves on, things change and what was important has been replaced with something newly important. Perhaps that is my greatest accomplishment, not hanging on to the past.
Five or ten years from now, I see myself...
Probably doing the same things I am doing now.
Spirituality
Spiritual Orientation:
Spiritual, not religious, Other
I consider my spirituality...
Very important to me
What brought me to my spiritual path and motivated my interest...
A profound distaste of organized religion and an even more profound desire to wake up.
I consider the purpose of my spirituality to be...
Helping me grow as a person, Other
After the body dies...
Other
I would define a spiritual experience as...
Something that can't really be defined.
A spiritual experience I would like to share...
Maybe if we chat further...
The spiritual books and authors that have had the greatest impact on me...
Again, it all changes and what once was definitive is no longer particularly relevant.
