How I spend my free time:
- Singing, dancing, practicing, being in nature, studying the dharma, trying to be a good person to those in my life

|
|
| Personality
|
|
|
-
My Personality:
-
Intelligent, Creative, Intuitive
-
When out with friends, I'm usually:
-
Trying to be a good listener
-
What makes me laugh hardest:
-
Myself
-
I'm happiest when:
-
Eating lentils! Or being warm, or riding my bike, or when I'm in nature, or singing with others, or both together, or any situation my nervous system can settle in..it helps me to understand my role in a situation and/or have a stated system for communication eg a talking stick/ being in a circle..i, l like most people, love being acknowledged and listened to well. I also really love helping people and generally prefer to be in activity with others (even if that activity is lying in the head looking at the sky) than chatting, though u might not guess that if you met me, especially if it was about something Im really passionate about
-
The things that annoy me are:
-
Hmmm , that's a hard one.... i can get upset by many petty things (like someone putting something away in they kitchen in the wrong place or people not moving down the bus to let people on) or big things (like the environmental meltdown or bigotosm or the rise of the right or how cruel or thoughtless people can be, including myself), but i always try to hold these experiences as manifestations of innate love and compassion and see my own projections and if there's something I can actually do about it, then hopefully do that.
-
The best day of my life was when:
-
Golly, probably when I met my first dharma teacher
-
If I could have dinner with any three people, they would be:
-
The Buddha, just to be in his presence
Other than that whoever it would be most beneficial - for all beings - for me to meet (Oh and it'd be quite fun to hang out with Elvis and sing with him)

Here's a funny one-
I'd been unable to get any builders to do a quote for a big repair that needed doing in my house, and without that I couldn't get the money off the insurance company.
I'd become quite desperate about the situation and one day in meditation called out to the Buddhas for hero (the only time I'd ever done that). I had a vision of a big man with masses of curly hair. I didn't recognise him but remembered my yoga teacher saying he used to have masses of curly hair and cut it off when he got it caught in some power tool he was using,.cos he used to do lots of trades,.and I realised the guy in the vision was him! I asked if he could do the quote and he did :)
-
The spiritual books and authors that have had the greatest impact on me...
-
The diamond cutter sutra
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle
The autobiography (or maybe it was biography, I can't remember) of Amma
