| About Me
|
|
|
|
I am a gentle, heart-centered woman, sensitive and affectionate. I hope to catch both your eye and interest with my sense of adventure and appreciation of fun and laughter. You'll find me laughing at the ironies of life and my imperfect self. I don't want things, I want experiences. I love travelling and the simple things in life, a soft touch, the sounds of birds in the morning, the smell and feel of just washed sheets, the beauty of nature, the taste of red wine, grilled salmon and more. I appreciate and respect my man who is generous, adventurous, protective, respectful, and smart. I'm loyal, sensual and available for a man who wants a long term romance, a man of his word who can keep me on my toes with his intellect, humour and energy. |

How I spend my free time:
- I love having a coffee after a morning walk along with the beach with you, yoga, movies, enjoying your company at Vancouver Film Festival, Vancouver Folk Festival, Illuminares Lantern Festival, Universal Kirtan, Bard on the Beach ... Driving on the coast together on a clear day, laughing at the comedies of life, exploring North America's wonderful provincial and state parks in a comfortable camping van, relishing your conversation and silence in evenings at home, exploring new restaurants, so much to enjoy!

The things that annoy me are:
-
People who don't listen. Loud bad music in restaurants. Cold wet feet.
-
The best day of my life was when:
-
There are too many wonderful days to choose one. When I'm surrounded by love on the inside and outside.
-
If I could have dinner with any three people, they would be:
-
Jesus, Buddha, and You! I want to bask in loving Presence. And then I'll ask a few questions!!!

-
The virtues I consider most important are...
-
Compassion, Honesty, Courage
-
The things I'm most grateful for in life are...
-
To be alive, you, my beloved friends, my spiritual teachers, nature, humour, family, good health, red wine, good food.
-
My goals, and what I want out of life...
-
I'm looking for my true love, generous, protective, loyal, respectful, who wants a long term, committed, monogamous romance. I want to continue growing spiritually and emotionally. I am looking forward to helping others through my career as a counselling psychologist.
-
My greatest accomplishments in life have been...
-
Are friends accomplishments? I am so grateful for long term, lifelong friends. Also my Oxford degree, my many travels alone (particularly to Tibet), baking lots of perfect fruit pies. And just surviving the twists and turns of life and love. It's been a long journey and the road has not always been smooth!
-
Five or ten years from now, I see myself...
-
In five years from now I hope to be sitting with you under the stars by the campfire in Arizona Red Rock State Park, talking and laughing over the day's journey, planning our next adventures, looking forward to the comforts of our home and friends on our return. Let's see - this is fun! - in ten years, I am sitting on a restaurant terrace with you on the Amalfi coast, enjoying a glass of chilled white wine with our grilled fish and pasta .... Both of us feeling so loved, safe, and grateful for our good fortune.

I consider my spirituality...

Very important to me
-
What brought me to my spiritual path and motivated my interest...
-
I think loneliness as a child made me hungry for the spiritual connection I feel to nature and to the divine. I moved from Christianity, to Quakerism, to Buddhism, to the eclectic path of Osho (Rajneesh). Osho is satisfying because he celebrates life (a rare thing in spiritual circles), and brings together psychology and meditation. It's all about joy in daily life.
-
I consider the purpose of my spirituality to be...
-
Connecting to something greater than myself, Finding happiness and peace within, Helping me cope with the struggles of life, Belonging to a like-minded community, Helping me grow as a person
-
After the body dies...
-
I don't know, but I'm not worried about it
-
I would define a spiritual experience as...
-
When I'm not resisting what is, I'm having a spiritual experience.
-
A spiritual experience I would like to share...
-
I would love to share this over a nice dinner and wine!
-
The spiritual books and authors that have had the greatest impact on me...

Pema Chodron for sure. Also Joko Beck, and Tara Brach. Chogyam Trungpa, Eckhart Tolle. Osho's hundreds of transcribed discourses. Byron Katie and Gangaji are current favourites.
