Being a father is the most meaningful experience I have ever known and the one I have been focused on for the last ten years or so. I raised my three children as a single parent through their high school years. My sons, now 26 and 28 years old, completed degrees in Boston area colleges and are now working professionally in Maryland. My 21 year old daughter is living and studying in Italy.
I have very much remained alone, however, (in terms of no female intimate other) for 15 years now. I have simply focused on my children. I also did not wish to repeat any mistakes that led to the heartbreaking experience of divorce with children involved. I have spent these years in reflection of all this. This is truly a new beginning in every possible way. It is my first time in 27 years not raising children. It is also my first time in 10 years without my longtime canine companion who passed recently.
I am a very accepting person but an intimate partner must share the highly conscious lifestyle I have chosen and this is not so easy to find. I am vegetarian (since age 17), non-smoking and I drink only red wine. I choose not to be in an environment with smoking, meat eating, or addictions to drugs/alcohol. I am not offended by natural hallucinogens though and I have had transformative experiences with sacred substances. I envision a lot of sharing nature and transformative experiences together. I see intimacy as an expression of spiritual yearning and very sacred. I yearn for a partner open to Tantric experiences together. I am loving and affectionate and have a strong sense of humor.
I am a nature worshipper in orientation. I love sacred dance circles, sweat lodges and gatherings. I have also been deeply influenced by Hinduism in my life. I have lived in many beautiful places such as the Berkshires, Vermont, Hawaii, and the mountains of North Carolina and Colorado. I am into camping, nature, water and mountains but not high-profile performance activities such as downhill skiing. I go into nature to commune. I love all folk music and favor music from 1965-1973. I have a tremendous record collection. I also like selective music from the last thirty years, some country, some folk, some Hawaiian, some indescribable. I am quite eclectic really, much more so then many who claim to be eclectic. I can listen to Dar Williams, the Dixie Chicks and to Goddess chanting and be inspired equally by all three. I recently digitized my record collection together with cassettes and CDs giving me my 1300 hits on a portable MP3 player. How revolutionary!! All of my personal hits in the palm of my hand. I have written a book documenting my music hits and their source. |
