| About Me
|
|
|
Hello. I'm Alan, currently living in the East Valley of Phoenix-Mesa AZ, but that will change for SURE, leaving in the end of June.
I like to walk, hike, bike, see movies, read, write, share lunch (and breakfast) with friends regularly, travel, dance, listen to music, and get online.
My photo doesn't look like me, but kind of serious for a photo shoot for a movie.
I'm a spiritual being experiencing a human experience. A nice lady would be great to know, talk, walk with, share activities with, and just to be and share time with.
I want Justice for all people, and to treat all of life justly - animals, plants, the planet. I'm human (with a heart) and I care I get that ALL is connected and we are in essence one. Do we have some things in common that we both relate to. I say 'viva la differance'. And that The Law of Attraction IS actually The Law of Allowing (aka Acceptance, according to the main promoter Ester Hicks/Abraham).
Wishing you a wonderful day and that all your dreams come true. Alan. |

How I spend my free time:
- I'm financially independent & have the freedom to live my life as it presents itself, which means staying out of judgment/evaluation, learning how to be more authentic/present/real, to grow personally and spiritually, and how to better communicate and be in a supportive relationship. My income is not dependent on outside sources, but solely determined by myself as a self-made man. I give myself income whatever that is.

| Personality

-
My Personality:
-
Caring, Confident, Intelligent
-
When out with friends, I'm usually:
-
Trying to be a good listener
-
What makes me laugh hardest:
-
Yes movies. It use to be Stephen Colbert, Craig Ferguson who followed David Letterman. I'm funny...
-
I'm happiest when:
-
Being outdoors in nature, dancing, laughing...or with firends. It's not that difficult to find out for yourself.
-
The things that annoy me are:
-
...when I don't recognize any seeming obstacles as opportunities sooner.
-
The best day of my life was when:
-
When honorably discharged from the Army even though it was the most peaceful time in my life. Also leaving Oklahoma when I was 1 year old not as a former experience but because it was best for my life afterwards.
-
If I could have dinner with any three people, they would be:
-
Only three people? Anybody with an open mind, ears to hear, a heart of love, a life of humility and service, is not afraid of being real/authentic/in the moment, the heart, tolerant, allowing, sweet and sensitive to others and all of life. No limit at my dinner party! Thich Nhat Hanh, Alan Watts, Adyashanti, Carl Jung, Gandhi, BabaJi, Neem Karoli Baba, Ramana Maharishi, Muktananda, Mooji, Nisargadatta, Buddha, Jesus, Jacob, Lao Tzu, Rumi, Hafiz, Kabrir, Albert Einstein, MLK, the Kennedy brothers, Marianne Williamson, Bernie Sanders, Howard Zinn a true American who did what his wife said write a book of real American history, Jackie Robinson, John Lewis, Socrates, Aristotle, Marcus Aurelius, AOC. There are SO many such as Sikhs, Hindu/non-duality/Advaita luminaries, George Harrison Three people? You got to be kidding. I see myself as deep, diverse and far reaching, with no limit. My true/perfect(ie. complete) self - been there done that.

-
The physical activities I'm interested in are:

-
For fun I like to...
-
For fun I like to hear from you. I love listening to great music. Pop, classic rock, blues, etc. etc. It use to be but not now, not here.... Satsang, Kirtan (chant/sing) in Sanskrit/dance, Peace (Sufi) Dances, yoga, walking, and I use to do a lot of dance freestyle, (use to be Contra Dance, Cajon/zydeco, Country Western Swing. Walk, travel, learn, listen & probably about all the things that you do. Btw, the present is not the past - and that is more like a review of my past.
-
My favorite movies:
-
Way too many, like endless! But, Avatar, Groundhog Day, Forrest Gump, August Rush, (Star Trek)Deep Space Nine & Voyager, Beetlejuice, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, The Matrix, the Cohen Brothers! I like the top movies like from IMDb/International Movie Database.com and RottenTomatoes.com
-
My favorite music:
-
Kirtan chant (yoga) music/Krishna Dass, Singh Kaur, Loreena McKinnett, Enya, Deva Premal & Miten, Snatum Kaur, Simrit, Classic Rock, popular, album rock, blues, trance, world music, (early) gospel, and New Age, Irish - especially live & outdoors.,Joe Cocker, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and classic rock, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin. Btw, I discovered a totally unknown band from AM radio called the Beatles while visiting B.C. Canada and 5 months later they made it. The best is the music (and dance) of the Muse. I have an open mind and open heart and yet most current music hasn't appealed to me.
-
My favorite books:
-
I go through phases and these are from LONG ago - just a few of them listed here: Mutiny on The Bounty Trilogy (by Nordoff and Hall - I went to Nordoff High School). The Secret. The poetry of Hafiz, & by Rumi. Any "Abraham" of Ester Hicks. The Autobiography of a Yogi by Yogananda. The Tao Te Ching - Alan Watt's "The Book - The Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are", The Tao/Dao Te/De Ching. Be As You Are: The Teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi. I loved reading Marianne Williamson's book 'Enchanted Love', "I Am That!".

Values
|
|
|
-
The virtues I consider most important are...
-
Honesty, Kindness, Open-Mindedness
-
The things I'm most grateful for in life are...
-
The breath I breathe & the ground under my feet, the natural world all around & those who give themselves the time to be a friend to all & have retained their soul/humanity not copping out to the outer, material world of the "Ego" that incessantly wants & controls, & judges & fragments/separate/hides/deludes/etc. I'm grateful for my past (history) like past studies/workshops/seminars/lectures/classes from great people/luminaries, yoga, aka rebirthing/breathing, massage, appreciation/acceptance of others & myself.
-
My goals, and what I want out of life...
-
To be part of the happiness in others lives. To be full present & to know & be who I truly am. To understand the quote that those who don't 'hear the music' think the dancers crazy. And the quote when money enters the room, god walks right out the door. :)
-
My greatest accomplishments in life have been...
-
Beyond my seemingly effortless financial sucess that has allowed me freedom, probably giving myself the time & focus to understanding life, myself, & my place in it. Being a Justice American.
-
Five or ten years from now, I see myself...
-
Same as you - different than what it was 5 yrs. ago, but specifically living in an earthly paradise in contentment, healthy, active, sharing my life fully. Visioning is required living! So I see us together growing, deepening, sharing and simply being.
-
My political inclination can be described as...
-
Some other viewpoint

Spirituality
|
|
|
-
Spiritual Orientation:
-
Agnostic, Baha'i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Humanist, Muslim, Pagan/Wiccan, Sikh, Sufism, Taoist, Unitarian, Yoga, Spiritual, not religious, SRF/YSS, Other
-
I consider my spirituality...
-
Very important to me
-
What brought me to my spiritual path and motivated my interest...
-
Eventually, since I have ears to hear and like to learn, I came to explore this "path". I'm not a label and don't fit into a 'box's, came to appreciate the ways of the Sufi, Hindu, (metaphysical/mystical) Christianity (being raised in it), Buddhist, Earth-based, Neo-pagan, eclectic spiritual Mystic centered on Love, Being Present, & Non-duality/Addvaita. Not so much as a choice, since it was available to explore. I don't think of myself having a religion. As a kid, my Dad gave me a New Testament Bible & said to always follow the wisdom I FIND IN THIS BOOK. You got to start where you are, & so I did and expanded my horizons.
-
I consider the purpose of my spirituality to be...
-
Other
-
After the body dies...
-
Other
-
I would define a spiritual experience as...
-
When you feel it, you know it. Ah ha! And if it feels good it IS good. Real answer? The way I was several times living heaven on earth...literally. It's no airy fairy thing although the words might have some think so. The purpose of tradition is to stop you from having a spiritual experience, but to stay in a 'box' - the comfort of that tradition.
-
A spiritual experience I would like to share...
-
Conscious connected circular breathing, which I facilitate (formerly known as 'rebirthing', being that it is, if done right/completely), well, heaven on earth.
-
The spiritual books and authors that have had the greatest impact on me...
-
Alan Watts, Yogananda. I also liked
"The Course of Love" the next big one for all of "us" to open up to., and "Love Me? Love Yourself" by Vern Black. Spiritual books? (see previous sections)
